Living is Architecture. Mission Control is a Living Philosophy. Mission Control is a Way of Life. Stop. Look. Listen.

Downgrade or Ascend? Which is the view you bring to your situations? // Chicago Union Station. West Elevation along South Clinton Street. View looks North to W. Adams Steet and S. Clinton Street.

Cadence. Silence. Staying cool and calm in pressure situations. Getting the facts and sorting out the situation using your training, your academic skills, your patience and attention. The will to work for a solution. The will to help others through and potentially save lives, save a mission… save a workplace or a friendship.

In my mind, those are the attributes of Mission Control. You can hear a FLIGHT Director saying it: “Let’s stay cool, everyone. Let’s stay calm and work this situation out. Get the range network up and running…and someone put some coffee on.”

The NASA way of Mission Control backs every SIM, every meeting, and every part of each mission- from training to launch, entering orbit, and the return to Earth. Liftoff and the clock is running. Splashdown… and the crew is now back home….

“Tower Control, We are Home.” A Lufthansa 747 is seconds from landing at ORD. 3 December 2017.

That cadence helps them.
That cadence can help us.
All we need to do is stop, look… and listen.
Just mission control it. Service is what we do.
